Financial Operations Manager

About UGLYCASH

Money is the manifestation of human action—enabling sovereign individuals to exchange value, preserve wealth, and unlock their potential. Yet, economic reality is an ugly truth for many: financial repression, unstable currencies, bank failures, barriers to global commerce, and unequal access to opportunity. Millions are left behind, and inequality grows.

At UGLYCASH we’re changing that from Silicon Valley to the world. We provide universal access to stable currency, global payments, and equitable financial services to empower migrants, remote workers, and underserved individuals. Our goal is to promote economic opportunity for everyone.

But we’re doing it in a way your traditional bank won’t. We’re redefining banking by fusing neobanking’s sleek, mobile-first design with blockchain’s security and borderless reach. UGLYCASH offers a regulated, stablecoin-powered financial center—fully-reserved and with 24/7 global access—delivered humanely with an ‘ugly’ empathy that puts customers first.

Role Summary

We’re looking for a self-driven professional, reporting to the CFO, to help us with the reserves and liquidity management process, working capital optimization, account management, revenue management, and internal controls for a secure, accurate and optimal financial management.

If you’re passionate about shaping the future of finance, enjoy working in a fast-paced fintech startup environment, and feel excited about international funds movements across crypto, stablecoins, DeFi, banks, cards, wallets and cash, this could be the right opportunity for you.

Responsibilities

  • Reserves Management: Manage our custodial asset balances (i.e. customer liabilities) to ensure we’re fully-reserved at all times through daily on-chain settlement mechanisms to maintain over-collateralized proof of reserves (self-auditable in our website).
  • Liquidity Management: Actively monitor and manage liquidity pool balances, both in fiat and crypto, across multiple accounts and entities in order to process customer transaction volume for all flows and payment methods (i.e. stables-in/out, crypto-in/out & trades, bank-in/out, Forex-in/out, cash-in/out, card-in/out, rewards, and cashbacks).
  • Rebalancing Mechanisms: Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for liquidity rebalancing across pools (e.g. chain swaps, transfers, trades, etc) to ensure we have sufficient volume at all times for business continuity.
  • Working Capital Optimization: Be responsible for proactively managing both the liquidity pool levels and the rebalancing frequency to ensure capital efficiency (i.e. liquidity is borrowed and generates interest expense at treasury rates).
  • Accounts/Wallet Management: Maintain the necessary bank accounts, exchange accounts, and on-chain wallets for reserves and liquidity purposes, managed with proper dual approval controls and segregation of duties to ensure assets safekeeping and risk mitigation (i.e. internal/external fraud prevention).
  • Revenue Management: Work with the Product team, along with the CFO and CEO, in order to define effective pricing strategies based on market competitive conditions and to effectively cover direct costs by payment method (e.g. gas fees, txn fees, spreads, etc).
  • Internal Controls: Work with Accounting, Compliance and Engineering to maintain the proper internal controls on our funds procedures to ensure traceability, regulatory compliance, and reconciliation in our sub-ledger (Cryptio) and accounting software (Xero).
  • 5+ years of experience in financial services, banking, fintech or crypto is preferred.
  • Functional experience in financial management or financial operations roles (treasury, FinOps, trading desk, forex, accounting, etc)
  • Proven operational experience and proficiency in blockchain/crypto payments is required.
  • Strong data analysis skills to identify trends and generate actionable insights.
  • Proven capacity to learn and navigate complex banking/crypto technologies and processes.
  • Track record of managing competing priorities under a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Comfortable with multi-disciplinary work with Engineering, Operations, Compliance, Finance, Marketing, and Leadership teams.
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English, with the ability to communicate effectively in a professional business setting.
  • Ability to work in-office Monday - Thursday
  • Do something meaningful, helping people around the world access a safe and transparent financial system
  • Be part of a fast-moving, challenging, and unique opportunity
  • Compensation: We offer a competitive compensation plan; salaries are 100% USD-denominated*
  • Nomadic work opportunities: Enjoy the flexibility of working remotely for 2 months a year.
  • Paid time off: Our policy includes 3 weeks of vacation, sick days, company holidays, and bonus anniversary days.
  • Parental & bereavement leave: Paid parental leave for new parents, including maternity, paternity, and adoption leave.
  • Location: centrally located office in the Belgrano neighborhood of Buenos Aires

If you're ready to join a mission-driven team and help build the future of financial services, we want to hear from you!
