Web Tech Solutions

 

The Web Tech Solutions team is responsible for providing a solid software technology platform serving more than 100 public-facing websites of our company under the blackrock.com and ishares.com domains. These websites serve around 4 million individual visits per month, providing comprehensive data about our investment funds on more than 190 000 so-called product pages, enable roughly thousands of updates of web content and roughly 10 000 document uploads daily, as well as provide authentication for close to a million registered users globally.

 

As a Lead Developer, you will be:

  • Overseeing the delivery of IT projects, ensuring they meet business requirements and are completed on time and within budget.

  • Coordinating with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, product managers, and stakeholders, to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.

  • Providing technical guidance and support to team members, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.

  • Managing project timelines, resources, and risks, and implementing mitigation strategies as needed.

  • Facilitating agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure smooth project execution.

  • Monitoring project progress and performance, as well as providing regular updates to stakeholders.

  • Designing, coding, testing, and supporting reliable, robust software applications and services with high-quality standards.

 

What You’ll Need:

  • A degree in computer science or similar IT related studies

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in software engineering or a related field.

  • Solid experience in project management and / or managing teams

  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.

  • Experience with project management tools such as Jira, Trello, or Microsoft Project.

  • Technical background with knowledge of architectural patterns (e.g., microservices, SOA) and design patterns.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS).

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to understand and solve complex problems.

 

Nice to have:

  • Experience with software containerization platforms like Docker or Kubernetes.

  • Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.js.

  • Understanding of Java-based frameworks such as Spring Boot, Hibernate, J2EE, etc.

  • Hands-on experience with relational databases and SQL.

  • Knowledge of version control systems like Git and build tools like Maven or Gradle
