Business Quantitative Analyst

This role is responsible for coordinating efforts to pull necessary reports for an assigned business unit. This will require the ability to understand reporting and extraction relationships within various data base tools. This position will partner with a data software developer and other information technology personnel to extract necessary information that matches the business reporting needs and provides quality and actionable reports.

BCBSNE is happy to offer four work designations for our Omaha area employees: 100% in-office, Hybrid options, and 100% remote. If choosing to work remote, this role can be located in one of the following states: Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Texas.

What you'll do:

  • Pull data from multiple sources that will help the assigned business unit with their daily tasks, as well as provide business insight. This will include adhoc, as well as scheduled reports.
  • Partner with coworkers across teams to ensure best practices for data collection and analysis.
  • Assist with the design, creation, modification, and review of database objects (tables, views, indexes, keys, stored procedures, functions, DB links, etc.) to support reporting needs.  Partner with IT and developers as needed.
  • Provide and automate data scrubbing and testing functions.
  • Act as a domain expert and utilize reporting skills to run data sets for the assigned business unit team.  This will include utilizing SQL, Microsoft Excel, and other various data tables and sets.
  • Build an understanding of the company product lines, plans, members, and claims as needed to fully understand business reporting needs.
  • Create necessary reporting schedules and develop repeatable processes and measures of data quality.

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer programming, social sciences, mathematics, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in an analytics type role.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to dissect quantitative and qualitative information.

The strongest candidates for this position will also possess:

  • Moderate Excel skills with SQL reporting experience.
  • Applied experience with healthcare data.
