Our projects range in value from £5k to £15m, taking the role of Principal Contractor and Principal Designer on various schemes, and supporting our valued Tier 1 contractor clients in a subcontractor and off-site manufacturing capacity.

Role purpose

We are currently recruiting for an Estimator to work as part of our commercial teams, reporting to our Maidstone office.

With a hybrid working model, you would be willing to commute to the Maidstone office. There will be the ability to offer some flexible working.

There will be an expectation for some client and site visits as part of this role.

Role overview

As an Estimator working for Bridges your key purpose is to estimate costs in line with clients' requirements for MIECA Engineering related projects. You will be a key part of the business winning work while maintaining profit margins, supporting the wider internal stakeholder team, and liaising with external stakeholders.

The Role

Contracted to 42.5hrs per week, Monday to Friday.

  • Analysing drawings, specifications, and documentation to prepare estimates
  • Attending site visits to undertake surveys
  • Production of accurate quotations
  • Communication with internal and external stakeholders

  • Dynamic and specialist experience in an engineering/manufacturing/fabrication/production sector
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering or contracting services
  • Understanding of Principal Designer and Principal Contractor responsibilities under CDM
  • Experience of working from client specifications
  • Knowledge of control panels & MCCs (essential)
  • Full UK driving licence (essential).

Desirable

  • Engineering qualification (electrical/mechanical) (highly desirable)
  • Experience working within the water industry.
