Electrical Staff Designer I

At CESO, an Electrical Staff Designer I is responsible for supporting the execution of technical design, calculations, and document productions for assigned projects, completing all tasks on a project on time, on budget, and consistently within industry standards.  You will have primary responsibilities that include: 


Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop an understanding of basic engineering systems in collaboration with senior design staff
  • Perform calculations and design of basic engineering systems in collaboration with internal staff
  • Assist with system layouts, detailed drawings, schematics, and schedules
  • Review shop drawings and equipment submittals for conformance to plan documents and project specifications
  • Assist in preparing and modifying studies, plans, reports, specifications, and designs for projects as directed
  • Learn and apply local, state, and federal regulations
  • Learn and adapt engineering information, codes, and standards into the project designs
  • Visit project sites to verify existing conditions and/or observe construction progress
  • Establish communication of design requirements with architects, contractors, and equipment manufacturer representatives to determine project scope and feasibility
  • Support engineers and project managers in daily planning, coordination, and completion of projects
  • Other project duties as assigned


Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited college or 1+ years of relevant design experience
  • Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (FE) and certification as an EIT with a state licensure board preferred
  • Basic Knowledge of AutoCAD, BlueBeam, Revu, Revit, Microsoft Office Suite, and other industry software as required
