Junior Membership Advisor

Forest Carbon Works, a subsidiary of Chestnut Carbon, offers private US forest landowners conservation programs that help them access revenue from carbon credit markets while preserving their land and legacy. Landowner members of Forest Carbon Works enroll their forestlands in our Improved Forest Management (IFM) conservation program. Our sales organization of membership advisors and support teams manage leads from first point of contact to contract signature and post-sales support with the landowner.


As the Junior Membership Advisor of a nature-based solutions company committed to developing high-quality voluntary carbon offset projects, this person will be a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills.

This position will report to the Senior Membership Advisor. The Junior Membership Advisor will support the Membership Advisor team while also meeting with potential landowner participants in our program to nurture leads and enroll new members. This role offers an opportunity to join the team, learn the product and process, and work towards promotion to Membership Advisor (MA). Success includes the following demonstrated capabilities:

Learning about our Forest Carbon Works Conservation Program and providing support as needed for Membership Advisors

Taking over sales pipeline management for specific lead segments and successfully moving leads from opportunity to converted member

Developing expertise in our Salesforce CRM system and other platforms utilized by the team. 


All Membership Advisors are expected to make meaningful contributions to the evolution of our program, marketing, and sales collateral, by channeling the “voice of the customer” into actionable feedback and ideas for improvement. They are expected to develop and share best practices and suggest improvements to processes and policies.

The Junior Membership Advisor must be both personable and professional. The ideal candidate is a quick learner with a desire to contribute to a mission-driven organization and an ability to speak with a wide variety of landowners about conservation and showcase our offering in a compelling way.


This position is remote with quarterly in-person meetings for the entire team.


Requirements
  • Support Membership Advisors as needed in progressing landowners through our sales process for enrolling in our conservation membership program
  • Serve as key point of contact for specific segments of landowners with responsibility for converting them to members
  • Leverage our Salesforce CRM platform to effectively track and report on performance.
  • Collaborate with other regional team members (consulting foresters and other membership advisors) to ensure that the sales goals are being achieved
  • Collaborate with members of other teams (Field, Customer, and Analytics) to resolve any questions related to landowner eligibility
  • Support collaborative team culture within sales team and across the entire organization (i.e., marketing, foresters, product teams) given a remote environment.


Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 2+ years of relevant sales experience (SDR role or similar)
  • Experience using a CRM system like Salesforce or Hubspot
  • Self-starter, highly organized with energy and drive and interest in learning
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills that includes comfort through phonaend remote meeting environments
  • Excited by and committed to using a defined sales process.
  • Passion for conservation and helping landowners across the US make commitments to conserve their forest land
  • Ensuring success by utilizing effective selling techniques.
  • Proficiency with sales management software and CRM.
  • Strong ability to balance persuasion with professionalism.
  • Excellent time-management and self-management skills and can take and give direction and work independently to reach identified goals on a set timeline.
  • Aligned with our mission and passion. You don’t have to be a forester, but long-term forest conservation and mitigating the effects of Climate Change motivates you.

$55,000 - $55,000 a year
The base salary range for this position is expected to be approximately $55,000, subject to the chosen candidate’s experience, skills, certifications and qualifications, determination of which is made in the sole discretion of VP of Sales.

All employees are eligible to participate in health, insurance, and 401K plan benefits on their first day of employment. Chestnut Carbon pays 100% of the cost of the employees’ health/dental/vision insurance. During each fiscal year of employment, employees will be eligible to earn a discretionary annual incentive bonus, based on company and individual performance targets.
