Research Engineer (Full-stack)

This role is ideal for an experienced fullstack engineer who thrives on autonomy, rapid iteration, and solving real user problems with elegant, modern tools. You’ll drive the evolution of our AI lead gen capabilities and build highly interactive, intelligent systems from the ground up. Your work will directly impact how users discover CloudZero and how we bring value from their very first click.

What You’ll Do

As a Fullstack Engineer on our Research Team, you will:

• Lead Development: Architect, implement, and continuously improve advisor.cloudzero.com using modern fullstack technologies.

• Frontend Craft: Build rich, interactive UIs using tools like React, Vite, Astro, and Tailwind—focused on performance and delight.

• Backend Integration: Develop and maintain backend services using Python (FastAPI or similar) to orchestrate AI workflows, lead routing, and data collection.

• AI Integration: Design and deploy AI-powered features that personalize the user journey, leveraging LLM APIs and retrieval-augmented techniques.

• Serverless Stack: Work natively in AWS, using Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, S3, EventBridge, and other cloud-native technologies.

• Collaborate: Work across product, marketing, and research teams to create a seamless experience from the first impression to qualified lead.

• Experiment & Research: Prototype new ideas and evaluate how emerging AI capabilities (e.g., RAG, AWS Bedrock, vector search) can amplify growth funnels.

Requirements
We’re looking for a pragmatic builder who’s excited to own a critical product experience end-to-end. The ideal candidate will have:

• Fullstack Mastery: Strong experience in both frontend (React, Vite, Astro, etc.) and backend (Python with FastAPI or similar) development.

• AI Experience: Hands-on experience integrating AI features—especially LLM APIs and custom agents—into user-facing systems.

• Cloud Native: Deep familiarity with serverless AWS technologies, including Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, CloudWatch, and EventBridge.

• Product Sense: An intuitive grasp of user experience, funnel optimization, and experimentation.

• Autonomy & Delivery: Proven ability to take initiative, prioritize effectively, and ship meaningful features with minimal oversight.

• Strong Communication: Comfortable collaborating across disciplines and distilling technical ideas for non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with LLM ops tools like LangChain, CrewAI, or Bedrock Agents

• Familiarity with A/B testing, analytics, and behavioral event tracking

• Background in developer experience, DevTools, or marketing tech

• Exposure to FinOps, cloud cost tooling, or cloud infrastructure (optional)
