Commercial Segment Manager – Head Mounted Display (m/f/d) - with salary details

The Commercial Segment Manager – Head Mounted Display (HMD) oversees the HMD segment for Bayfol HX, serving as the primary contact for sourcing and development managers of global technology firms. This role is responsible for driving business growth by managing existing projects, identifying new opportunities in head-mounted and wearable devices and overseeing commercialization efforts through a global partner and supply network.

The position plays a critical role in expanding the adoption of photopolymer films within the HMD industry, strengthening relationships with leading tech companies and contributing to sales growth and EBIT for Specialty Films (SF) in holographic lightguiding.

In addition to our diverse benefits, you can expect an attractive starting salary between €108.600,00/year and €135.700,00/year plus a variable component for a full-time position. The starting salary is based on your qualifications and professional experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the HMD segment’s business contributions, including forecasting, sales growth, and revenue impact.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for senior sourcing and development representatives of major global technology companies.

  • Oversee global and regional HMD innovation projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners.

  • Work closely with R&D, Application Development (AD), Global Product Management (GPM), and Technical Product Management (TPM) to ensure photopolymer films meet customer specifications.

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with technology partners, academic institutions, and optical component manufacturers across the Bayfol HX value chain.

  • Identify and drive new business opportunities within the HMD segment, expanding market penetration and strengthening the global partner network.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Physics, Optics, or a related field.

  • Minimum 5+ years in sales, business development, or product management, ideally within HMD, AR/VR, optics, or photopolymers.

  • Strong understanding of B2B relationship management with global technology firms, particularly with sourcing and development teams.

  • Expertise in optical components for the electronics industry, ideally for optical films or photopolymers.

  • Proven ability to manage commercialization efforts, innovation programs, and cross-functional teams.

  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical abilities, communication, and negotiation skills to drive business growth and partnerships.
