About This Role:
The Category Manager - Electrical is responsible for developing, executing, and managing Data Center equipment initiatives for a variety of direct and indirect electrical products. This role will have a direct and immediate impact on our ability to build and scale our data center operations. This is a full-time position.
What You’ll Be Working On:
Negotiating complex programs for electrical equipment such as Generators, Switchgear, Pad Mounted Transformers, Power Distribution Units, Static Transfer Switches, UPS/Batteries, and other electrical equipment as needed.
Managing equipment schedules, budgets, and costs to support new large Data Center construction activities.
Driving integration and development of new and existing suppliers to ensure collaboration and ease of doing business.
Leading supplier onboarding and selections based on cost analysis/lead time tied to an RFP.
Providing strategic guidance, understanding the Total Cost of Ownership to support sourcing decisions.
Developing implementation strategies, responsibility assignments, communications plans, and timelines.
Leading implementation efforts and activities for electrical equipment categories with critical impacts to business and internal customers.
Monitoring compliance against supplier agreements related to speed, scope, and schedule.
Conducting thorough spend analysis, developing methodology and metrics tools to track progress, and making recommendations on improvements.
Negotiating, reviewing, and executing the implementation of contractual arrangements per company policy and business objectives.
Identifying and implementing system solutions and best practices that optimize indirect sourcing and procurement work practices.
Building relationships with key suppliers and key stakeholders to support our Data Center growth.
Ensuring tactical execution of purchasing activities to meet routine business needs.
Collaborating with strategic suppliers, finance, accounting, and construction teams.
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience, ideally in a similar industry or fast-paced environment.
Travel: Ability to travel 20% of the time.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Budget Management: Experience managing similar-sized Capex budgets (+$100 million).
Proven Success: Proven track record of success in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while supporting key stakeholders. Ability to get things done while completing assigned tasks within deadlines.
Based in San Francisco, CA or Denver, CO with the ability to come into the office multiple times a week.
Education: Bachelor's degree.
