With our health management system, Cylinder, we are addressing the unmet needs of people who feel invisible, neglected, or stigmatized due to their conditions.  By empowering people with access to a tech-enabled, human-led GI platform, we help them spend less time worrying about their digestive symptoms and more time living life.

Position Summary

As a Registered Dietitian, you'll provide one-on-one HIPAA-compliant Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) via 30-minute telephone, video, and instant message to members seeking improved digestion and relief from chronic conditions. You'll use counseling skills like Motivational Interviewing, strengths-based care, and the transtheoretical model to provide member-centered care based on the member's primary concern. Most of the time, you'll help members with Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, celiac disease, irritable bowel syndrome, short bowel syndrome, diverticulitis, chronic constipation or diarrhea, gastroparesis, elimination diets, FODMAP diet, food allergies and intolerances, SIBO, mindful eating, weight management, and malnutrition.

Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience and ranges between $31.25-34.25 per hour.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Applying evidence-based strategies to promote symptom relief, condition treatment, and behavior change — including assessment, nutrition diagnosis, interventions, monitoring, and evaluation

  • Managing co-morbid conditions with Medical Nutrition Therapy

  • Managing dietary supplements and probiotics

  • Using counseling skills (MI, TTM, strengths-based care) to help members move through the stages of change via one-on-one HIPAA-compliant telephone, video, and instant messaging

  • Aiding in the administrative burden of caring for a chronic disease and supporting the member with developing self-efficacy and self-advocacy

  • Applying our Member Engagement Model and Clinical Pathways to promote symptom relief, digestive condition treatment, and behavior change

  • Providing education, setting SMART goals, and acting as an accountability partner to help members feel their best

  • Documenting according to established guidelines and expectations

  • Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team for optimal care for the members

  • Practicing within HIPAA/state/federal guidelines, our Clinical Pathways, within role scope of practice, and referring to other disciplines according to our escalation plans and guidelines

  • Maintaining strict confidentiality of members’ Protected Health Information and is bound by our confidentiality agreement

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree

  • Fluency in English and Spanish

  • Registered dietitian status certified through CDR

  • Proof of required licensure as stated by the RD's home state

  • A minimum of one year of outpatient dietitian experience

  • Flexibility to work with variable individual schedules across multiple time zones, including one evening until 8 Central Time. Your schedule will be created two months in advance

  • Quiet and professional dedicated workspace with secure high-speed internet access

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Dietetics or Human Nutrition

  • Located in Pacific or Mountain Time Zone

  • Certified Health Coach: NBC-HWC credentials

  • Multi-state licensure

  • Experience with Motivational Interviewing, SMART goal setting, assessing stages of change/readiness, etc.
