Dewberry is looking for a Traffic Engineer with a BS in Civil Engineering, and at least 5 to 10+ years of experience in transportation/traffic engineering to provide support in the NY/NJ metropolitan area. This is an excellent opportunity to lead, mentor, and be part of a growing team of traffic engineers. Qualified candidates should be familiar with conducting traffic analysis/studies utilizing Synchro/Sim Traffic, HCS etc. Vissim/AIMSUN and similar analysis tools a plus. Traffic Signal and Intersection design experience is a plus. Familiarity with local agencies including: NJDOT, NYSDOT, NYCDOT, PANYNJ, NJTA, NYCEDC, NYCDDC, MTA and TBTA is preferred. Experience in leading tasks, leading project teams, preparing technical and cost proposals, and understanding of QA/QC procedures is desirable. Strong verbal and written skills are required. PE registration is desirable.

Responsibilities

Lead and/or conduct traffic engineering tasks including, traffic impact analysis, microsimulation modeling, O-D and corridor studies, and developing data collection programs to support transportation studies
Prepare traffic study reports and deliverables
Coordinate and deal directly with clients
Periodically organize and lead fieldwork effort with internal staff teams
Assist in developing traffic scope of work and associated fee estimates and other business development efforts
Traffic Signal and/or intersection design experience is desired
ITS experience a plus

Required Skills & Required Experience

BSCE required
Minimum 5-10 years of experience in traffic engineering
PE and/or PTOE desirable
Working knowledge of Transportation Planning principles and practices including NYC CEQR and Port Authority Standards a plus
AIMSUN/VISSIM experience desirable
Excellent communication and organizational skills are required
Driving is a requirement of the position. A clean driving record is required.
