Job description

You develop software for a significant commercial software project, collaborating as a member of a team proficient in Java development with the Spring Boot framework and Kafka. As a Principal Engineer, you stay informed about relevant technology trends and developments. You will be reporting to the Sr. Director, Software Development.

Requirements:

  • As a Principal Engineer, you stay informed about relevant technology trends and developments.
  • Experience with multiple technologies and simultaneously working on multiple projects
  • Current cloud technology experience with AWS (Kubernetes, Fargate, EC2, S3, Aurora, Lambda, Glue, AWS Batch, Athena).
  • You have a solid proficiency in SQL
  • Recent hands-on experience building and supporting commercial systems managing data and transactions, including server-side development of Data Flow processes, performing Data Enrichment and ETL processes Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) processes (CodeCommit, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline/Harness/Jenkins/GitHub Actions, CLI, BitBucket/Git).
  • Knowledgeable and experienced with software and system patterns and their application in prior works
  • Experience gathering and assessing specifications and requirements
  • Experience supporting data science efforts
  • Familiarity with creating and using Docker/Kubernetes applications

  • At least 2 years of experience leading development teams
  • B.S. degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline
  • 10+ years of software development experience building and testing applications following secure coding practices
