As a Legal Assistant, Collections in the Account Servicing Department, you will be responsible for supporting our Post Judgment Remedy (PJR) team. You will drive processes and results by working and collaborating with our network of 20+ outside counsel daily. You will be asked to prepare and send legal packages to assigned attorneys and request and progress updates on all legal proceedings. You will also coordinate with our collections teams regarding legal milestones and settlement negotiations, often being the one to provide information so a sound resolution can be reached. The PJR manager will also rely on you to complete administrative initiatives to improve the operation such as inventory clean-ups, review of invoices, and document reviews. This role offers long-term hybrid flexibility. (1 day in office/4 days remote)
In this role, you will:
Support the Post Judgment Remedy (PJR) team by:
Communicating with Forward Financing’s network of outside attorneys
Processing, organizing, and updating case files
Relaying major case milestones and issues to our internal collections teams
Reviewing various legal drafts before outside counsel sends them to court
Monitoring the pace of caseload to ensure milestones are being hit within the expected timeframes
Analyzing and recommending next action for cases
Escalating appropriate matters and issues to attorneys
Oversee the case inventory to ensure it is being properly worked and updated
Contribute to performance evaluations of outside attorneys
Assist with legal administrative tasks
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree
3+ Years Experience working in a fast-paced litigation environment
Adaptable to changing needs of the team
Working knowledge of Word
Knowledge of Excel (Preferred)
Strong relationship-building skills
Experience handling a high-volume of work
Written communication - a writing sample may be requested
Strong communication skills - proficient in English
Effective in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and an ability to apply your analytical mind to solving problems.
