Job Description

Range of Pay:  $17.50 per hour + $.50 shift premium 

Hours: 3:00 AM - 11:30 AM 

Position Summary:  The primary functions of this position are to clean, set up and assemble kitchen equipment, shred cheese, chill filling, complete appropriate documentation as needed, and ensure filling is being produced in a timely manner for production. The cook assistant will need to be HACCP trained and document HACCP times and temperatures, as well as assist with inventories and housekeeping

Position Responsibilities

  • Obtain work schedule, obtain paperwork and prepare for operations.
  • Report to assigned workstation and obtain tools, check equipment and check recipe as required.
  • Obtain pallets of cheese blocks from cooler, transport to grinding station and manually cut cheese blocks into sections.
  • Operate cheese grinder to grind cheese according to recipe, fill gondolas with ground cheese cover and label
  • Obtain and fill containers, vats or tubs of meat, beans, cheese and other ingredients.
  • Transport full gondolas to cooler.
  • Position full gondola of finished product to chiller station and add chilling mixture to batch. Transport finished batches to cooler storage areas as required. Complete CCP1 & CCP2 HACCP documentation.
  • At end of shift, clean and secure all equipment, perform general housekeeping duties and complete all required paperwork.

 

Qualifications

  • Must be able to use, or learn to use, the equipment and tools used to perform the job.
  • Must be able to perform all job functions safely.
  • Must meet the company standards for the job.
  • Must be able to follow instructions.
  • Must be able to understand and follow all written SSOP’s
  • Must be able to understand MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets)
  • Must be able to work the scheduled /assigned times and required overtime for the position
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended period of time.
  • Must be able to lift 50 llbs
