Strategic Partner Manager, Project Starline

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, in the Consumer Electronics, Auto, OEMs, Telecom, E-Commerce/Retail, Apps, Ads, Gaming, or Technology industries.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or other advanced degree.
  • Experience managing complex, end-to-end partnerships.
  • Experience working autonomously in a dynamic, ever-changing, and collaborative environment.
  • Ability to identify potential business opportunities, assess financial/business benefit, structure agreements, and discuss terms with strategic partners.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.

Google's line of products and services to our clients never stops growing. The Partnerships Development team is responsible for seeking and exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Equipped with your business acumen and extensive product knowledge, you are right on the front line of interacting with our partners, and helping them find ways to grow using Google's newest product offerings. Your knowledge of relevant verticals and relationships with key industry players will help shape our great applications and content for products such as YouTube, Google TV and Commerce.

Project Starline’s mission is to bring Google’s new immersive communications experience to business and eventually consumer users everywhere. Starline is at a critical juncture as we rapidly advance our efforts toward pre-sales and product launch. Project Starline is developing advanced software and hardware technology to enable people who are separated by distance to experience a conversation as if they were together. You will have the opportunity to have a big impact working alongside researchers and engineers bringing to market the future of communication with Google products.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $134,000-$196,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and drive the implementation of Starline's Direct Sales strategy. Develop and execute strategies to identify and qualify potential direct sales leads.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams across Google to align on and drive direct customer-led sales. Discuss commercial terms and pricing with potential customers.
  • Provide thought leadership on product strategy and roadmapping, incorporating customer feedback and direct sales market insights. Facilitate a smooth onboarding process for new customers and provide ongoing support.
  • Represent the customer, ensuring business and technical feedback is received and implemented to improve products.
