General Description:
We are seeking a candidate to join an effort developing semiconductor, spin quantum bit devices and mature the project by improving device yield.
Essential Duties:
The candidate will relate electrical data taken at various temperature stages of testing, including quantum coherent spin qubit characterization, to fabrication processes and semiconductor device design.
The individual will investigate device failures through materials characterization techniques, and organize, update, and summarize results.
The role involves using databases to extract critical information and statistical data analysis.
The position requires frequent technical communication with team members, including oral and written reporting, a strong work ethic, enjoyment of problem solving, and a natural scientific curiosity.
Required Skills:
Statistical analysis and design of experiments
Failure analysis, including materials characterization techniques
Development and design of novel semiconductor or quantum devices, including understanding of cleanroom fabrication equipment and processes
Semiconductor device physics
Experience with Python and SQL is preferred, though specific languages are less important.
Reporting and documentation of test results
Cryogenic test equipment
Required Education:
Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering, physics, applied physics, or related field; or Master’s degree plus 5+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor yield engineering field.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to climb ladders to use elevated test equipment.
Must be able to work safely in a laboratory environment.
Special Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship. Must have or be willing to apply for a security clearance.
Compensation:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $132,765 - $165,983 + bonus + benefits.
