Job Description

Manufacturing company needs a Senior Project Engineer, with experience in overseeing capital investment projects for manufacturing. You will have an opportunity to work in a state-of-the art, highly-automated manufacturing facility. This job is in Jackson, Tennessee. I'm advertising in your area in order to attract people who want to relocate.

 

  • You will oversee projects from preparation stage, through planning and execution, to the closing report.
  • Will coordinate and direct all project activities and resources with managers and process engineers.
  • Develop and implement projects for manufacturing process improvements, new manufacturing, equipment upgrades, and safety improvements.
  • Participate in equipment selection and plant layout.
  • Develop vendor relationships, provide written detailed scope of work specifications for subcontractors and vendors.
  • Prepare bid packages for procurement.
  • Provide project status reports, secure required permits and licenses for projects, ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations and policies.
  • Responsible for developing cost estimates, SOP’s, resource planning, and end of project reports.

 

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors’ degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred, but will consider other four-year engineering degrees such as Industrial, Electrical or Chemical Engineering.
  • Must have at least five to seven years’ experience with production equipment improvements in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with CAPEX (capital expenditure) projects in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of the processes, principles, and methods of project management.
  • Must be able to read engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Should also be knowledgeable about MS Project, MS Office, and AutoCAD, and major ERP software such as Oracle, JD Edwards, or SAP.

Experience working in heavy manufacturing such as in lumber and paper manufacturing, primary metals, automotive, cement, will be considered. Relocation assistance is available.
