Manufacturing Engineer

Position Summary 

The Manufacturing Engineer creates and leads large new projects with multiple concepts and oversees multiple resources thru the successful completion of these projects.  Includes developing and exercising leadership skills. 

 

Core Responsibilities of our Manufacturing Engineer

  • Conduct continuous improvement opportunities to improve efficiency and reliability
  • Select techniques to solve problems and make sound process and programming recommendations
  • Support existing production products and technical assignments
  • Create required controlled documents
  • Maintain standards for current processes
  • Deploying and integrating automation improvements

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Knowledge of drafting standards and ability to read blueprints.  
  • Experienced with building 3D models and 2D prints with NX.  
  • Strong knowledge of error-proofing concepts. (Assembly) 
  • Strong knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics. (Assembly) 
  • Advanced knowledge of basic production processes.  
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.  
  • Sound knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.  
  • Advanced fixture design.  
  • Advanced problem solving skills.  
  • Sound knowledge of material flow and work balancing.  
  • Ability to lead large-sized projects with multiple resources.  
  • Mentors and teaches newer Manufacturing Engineers.  
  • Working knowledge in SPC, Gauge R & R, and Capability.  
  • Able to create and maintain budgets and schedules for large projects.  
  • Researches and recommends new technology and processes.  
  • Advanced knowledge of Vertical and Horizontal CNC machining and programming. (Machining) 
  • Advanced knowledge of CMM programming. (Machining) 
  • Advanced knowledge of utilizing DataPage software. (Machining) 
  • Advanced knowledge of tool and coolant selection. (Machining) 
  • Basic design, development, and troubleshooting of control programs for equipment and automation systems; including but not limited to: 
  • Create PLC control programs for Allen Bradley PLC using Studio 5000 
  • Create PLC and OI control programs for various small Omron, Unitronics and Red lion systems

Education and Experience Requirements 

  • Minimum:  Bachelor’s Degree from a 4 year college or technical school and 5+ years Industrial Technology experience
