Overview

Johns Hopkins Intrastaff is the internal staffing agency for the Johns Hopkins Health System and partner hospitals, providing temporary support to a variety of the Johns Hopkins locations. Title: Patient Registrar

Location-Bayview Medical Center, 4940 Eastern Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21224

Hours: Monday-Friday 8a-5p

Pay rate: $22 per hour

 

Responsibilities

Provide pre-registration, registration and discharge services for patients in the ambulatory clinics. 

Overall functions include telephone utilization, insurance verification, chart preparation, cash collection activities, and lab/test preparation.

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum of High school diploma or equivalent required.

 

Previous work experience in similar work environment.

 

Analytical skills to gather and interpret data in situations in which the information or problems are relatively routine.

 

Ability to exchange information on factual matters, schedule appointments, greet visitors, explain medical center policies, and/or relay messages to appropriate personnel. This type of interaction requires courtesy and tact when dealing with patients, visitors and/or medical center employees.  

 

Knowledge of business, insurance and/or medical terminology and an excellent command of English grammar and spelling.

 

EPIC Certification through Johns Hopkins training will be required prior to starting the temporary assignment.
