Summer Works Staff (Pediatric Feeding)

Overview

The Summer Works Staff will work in various departments in the Institute contributing to business operations in a courteous, professional and responsible manner. Responsibilities may include administrative support, facilities support, research support, educational support and/or patient care aide dependent on the department in which the individual is working.

Responsibilities

  • Provides general supervision of patients in the play areas.
  • Interacts and engages with children in an environment that is welcoming, stimulating, and child oriented.
  • Maintains the safety, cleanliness, and orderliness of the playroom toys, supplies, and equipment.
  • Provides daily record of patient care activities.
  • Decorates the playroom areas to reflect patients’ artwork.
  • Provides physical care (e.g., toileting, personal hygiene, etc.) appropriate to patient level of adaptive skills and needs.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality, respects patient rights, and models appropriate behaviors in the presence of patients and their families.
  • Completes medical, behavioral, and other in-service training as needed.
  • Qualifications

    EDUCATION:

    At minimum, individual must be currently enrolled in a high school education program or equivalent.
