Knapp Medical Center is an award-winning, not-for-profit hospital in Weslaco, Texas. With 227 beds, the community hospital specializes in emergency care, orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, wound care, surgery, cardiology, gastroenterology, critical care, and interventional radiology. Knapp serves as the only acute care hospital in the Mid-Valley area, as well as Weslaco's only Level III Trauma Center, Advanced Primary Stroke Center, and Level II Newborn Nursery. Knapp has been providing quality and compassionate healthcare to Mid-Valley residents for 60 years.  More than 300 physicians serve on the hospital's medical staff. Responsibilities

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the patient Sitter maintains constant visual observation of assigned patient. Assists in the provision of a safe and clean environment. Communicates observations of the patient’s activity and behavior on a regular basis to the assigned nurse. Communicates in a professional manner and demonstrates respect for patient, families/significant other and other health care members. Offers support to peers and staff.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING  1. High School Diploma or equivalent. 2. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer skills. 3. Ability to communicate in English orally and in writing. 4. BLS (AHA) certification required at time of hire and remain current.
