The Role

We are seeking to recruit our inaugural Lead Solution Architect, who will be instrumental in defining and refining our technical direction. In this pivotal role, you will not only oversee the successful execution of projects but also champion technical excellence throughout our expanding project portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Pre-Sales: Engage with prospective clients, understand their needs, and provide high-level technical solutions that align with business objectives. Support sales efforts by crafting compelling technical proposals and illustrative architectures.
  • Delivery Team Configuration Design: Design and recommend optimal technical team structures to ensure successful project execution, balancing skill sets, scalability, and efficiency.
  • On-Project Architecture Design & Validation: Define, design, and validate software architecture for client projects, ensuring alignment with best practices, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Technical Audits: Conduct in-depth technical assessments of existing client systems, identifying areas for improvement and providing strategic recommendations.
  • Billable Technical Reskilling: Act as a hands-on technical expert, upskilling teams through mentorship and direct involvement in client projects when needed.
  • Training Design & Delivery: Develop and deliver internal and client-facing training programs, fostering technical growth and best practices across teams.
  • Mentorship & Coaching: Guide and mentor engineers and technical leads, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
  • Emerging Technology Trends: Keep track of emerging technology trends and advise on strategies to maximise their impact for enhancing client projects and internal capabilities.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Solution Architect, Technical Lead, or similar role in a software development consultancy, startup, or agile-driven environment.
  • Strong agile and product mindset with a focus on delivering business value through technology.
  • Commercial understanding and approach; seeking solutions that meet the needs of clients and La Fosse organisational objectives.
  • Expertise across data platforms and strategy, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices, API design, and modern software development best practices.
  • Ability to design, document, and present complex architectural solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach when necessary.
  • Experience in mentoring, coaching, and growing technical teams.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and inspire.
