Financial Accountant

CLEVR is looking for a detail-driven Financial Accountant who thrives in a dynamic, international environment. This role is essential in ensuring accurate financial accounting, reporting, and control across multiple legal entities.

With a strong focus on ownership, systems and process optimization, the accountant plays a key part in CLEVR’s finance operations.

You may be assigned to a specific CLEVR legal entity or take ownership of finance processes that span across countries and business units. This role combines precision, systems thinking, and proactive collaboration.

The Financial Accountant supports CLEVR’s financial processes from end to end. From day-to-day accounting tasks to financial reporting and audits, this role requires a hands-on mindset and strong analytical skills.

In your role you ensure that CLEVR’s financial administration is compliant, reliable, and ready to scale, while also contributing to automation, system improvements, and internal control frameworks.

Job responsibilities

As a financial all-rounder you enjoy taking ownership and improving processes and systems. Depending on assigned responsibilities, tasks may include:

  • Executing daily accounting activities, including AP, AR, GL, and payroll entries.
  • Managing invoicing for services and subscription revenue.
  • Coordinating with the Professional Services team on project setup and administration.
    • Processing purchase requisitions and orders.
    • Preparing and executing AP payments.
    • Handling expense reimbursements.
    • Preparing and filing VAT returns.
    • Managing credit control activities.
    • Executing month-end close and financial reporting tasks.
    • Maintaining high-quality account reconciliations.
    • Supporting annual audits.
    • Documenting finance processes and driving continuous improvement.
    • Supporting automation initiatives and improving the use of financial systems.

Position within the organization

The accountant is part of the Finance team and reports to the Finance Manager. While day-to-day work is largely independent, the role includes close collaboration with various departments across CLEVR.

The position is based in Amersfoort, the Netherlands.

This role requires a sharp, system-savvy accountant with international experience and a proactive mindset.

You also identify with the following:

  • Degree in business economics, accounting, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting with GL responsibility for one or more legal entities.
  • Experience in international environments, preferably in technology services with subscription contracts.
  • Skilled in project setup, administration, and service invoicing.
  • Experienced in maintaining contract registers and managing subscription revenue.
  • Solid track record in account reconciliations and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and tax regulations.
  • Familiar with end-to-end finance processes: purchase-to-pay, order-to-cash, payroll.
  • Able to document, analyze, and improve finance processes.
  • Experience with internal controls.
  • Strong affinity with systems; experience with FinancialForce and Salesforce is a plus.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written); Dutch, German, or Norwegian is a plus.
  • Self-motivated, structured, and deadline-driven.
  • Strong analytical and detail-oriented mindset.
  • A can-do attitude and a willingness to go the extra mile, with a smile.
