Product Engineer (Software)

Marble is building autonomous UAV systems to tackle real-world problems—like monitoring the Arctic ice sheet or spotting illegal fishing vessels at sea. We’re looking for a Product Engineer who moves at the speed of thought, prototypes with AI, and builds what users actually need.

This role is for someone who’s obsessed with solving the right problem fast. You’ll work directly with customers and field operators to understand pain points, rapidly test solutions, and ship working tools—sometimes within a day. You'll leverage AI tools to move 10x faster, build smarter, and validate quicker than traditional dev workflows.

You’re not here to write code slowly. You’re here to solve problems—fast, lean, and in direct contact with the people who use your tools.

What you’ll do

  • Speak directly with users (coast guards, NGOs, drone ops teams) to understand their needs in detail
  • Define, prototype, and ship solutions quickly—sometimes in hours, not days
  • Use AI tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.) to accelerate development and reduce boilerplate
  • Validate requirements early through live demos, quick pilots, and fast feedback loops
  • Build web apps, dashboards, and mission tools that interface with drone systems, imagery, and data
  • Work closely with core engineering to transition validated tools into long-term systems
  • Join field trials and customer deployments to watch your tools in action

You’ll be a great fit if you:

  • Are highly proficient with Python, React, and TypeScript, and love turning ideas into reality fast
  • Are already using AI tools as part of your dev workflow and know how to squeeze leverage out of them
  • Are comfortable working with ambiguity and iterating directly with users to refine solutions
  • Know how to move fast without breaking everything—and when to go from prototype to product
  • Communicate clearly across engineering, operations, and customer teams
  • Have a Bachelor’s or Master’s in a technical field—or deep, practical experience building things that work

Bonus points for:

  • Experience working closely with technical users (e.g. field ops, analysts, mission planners)
  • Familiarity with UAVs, robotics, or geospatial data workflows
  • Exposure to OpenCV, Mavlink, or real-time data/imagery pipelines
  • Prior startup, prototyping lab, or rapid dev environment experience
  • A passion for elegant, minimal product experiences that solve real problems

Why now?

We’re delivering data that matters to customers who need it now. You’ll help us build the tools they rely on, with the freedom to move fast and the support to go deep.

If you’re excited by building just enough to solve exactly the right thing, this is the role.
