A Day in the Life

In this exciting Manufacturing Technician role, you will be part of the dedicated, experienced, and high-performing Technician team at the Medtronic Energy and Component Center (MECC) in Brooklyn Center, MN. At this facility, we design, develop, and manufacture components used in Medtronic medical devices. In this role you will gain experience with advanced manufacturing processes and equipment, supporting the manufacturing of batteries for implantable defibrillators. You will be a key member of the operations team, ensuring optimal equipment performance to support daily production as well as driving improvements to support manufacturing stability.

This posting is for a Technician Level 1 – hiring at a higher level will be considered for qualified candidates.

Normal shifts for this role are from 2pm – 10pm, Mon – Fri.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Devises, fabricates, installs, tests, and repairs mechanical equipment and systems involving the movement of physical components in the manufacturing area.
  • Assisting engineers with developing technical solutions related to the operation and performance of devices and systems.
  • Installs, repairs, and upgrades components of mechanical devices and systems in the manufacturing area.
  • Devises, fabricates, and assembles new or modified mechanical components for machinery and equipment.
  • Conducts quality assurance/control tests and procedures.

Required Knowledge and Experience: 

  • Requires high school diploma, or equivalent.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$42,800.00 - $64,200.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Operations Incentive Plan (OIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
