IT Communication Intern, Fluent in Korean and English

Summary:

This IT Communication internship is an excellent opportunity to work with CIO, IT team and various functions to facilitate the understanding of the company’s systems and their respective requirements as part of an IT Digital Excellence Project. In this role, you will support the team by translating dialogue between Korean and English speakers, coordinating meetings and writing business communications. You will report directly to the Chief of Staff.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Translation and Interpretation: Participate in meetings to translate dialogue between Korean and English speakers, ensuring clear and accurate communication.

  • System Requirement Capture: Work with the CIO, IT team, and various functions to capture and document company system requirements.

  • Written Communication: Assist in drafting and revising documents, emails, and other written communication needs.

Qualifications:

The following are required for the role

  • Fluent in Korean and English to assist the Chief Information Officer in communicating with local employees

  • Presence in the Niskayuna HQ office Monday through Thursday 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM

  • Ability to write business emails, organize meeting calendars, and follow up on upcoming action items

  • Present a professional, positive mindset to all executives and staff of the organization

  • High attention to detail and sensitivity of information handled within the work environment

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment, when required

The following are preferred for this role

  • Understanding of IT programming languages

  • Familiarity with hardware and software installations (SAP)

  • Major in Computer Science or related field

Program Requirements:

  • The candidate must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at the time of application and for at least one semester following the conclusion of the internship.

  • The candidate is expected to be available Monday through Thursday 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM for a period of 10-12 weeks between the months of May and August.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Regularly required to sit; talk and hear, use hands to type, handle or feel. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. Visual acuity to use a keyboard, prepare and analyze data and figures; transcribing, viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. May require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand, walk, lift, carry and move light to medium weight. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and learn technical information. Light lifting is required. The environment for this position is an office setting. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Base Pay Range: $22.00 - $26.00
