Project Engineer II

SUMMARY  

Mortenson is currently seeking a Project Engineer that will provide analysis, management, and resolution of field coordination issues with project team members and participants.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interpret project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors and craft persons
  • Implement the pre-construction quality plan
  • Obtain and maintain all necessary construction permits
  • Work with Project Manager for fee payments or recurring permit expenses
  • Develop and maintain: Material Tracking List, Project Test and Inspection Listing, Concrete Placement Log, Non-Conformance Report
  • Create, oversee, and distribute contract documents
  • Establish handling procedures for electronic documents, including Request for Information (RFI) and correspondence
  • Incorporate all processes and procedures that support the project closeout phase
  • Lead all aspects of testing and inspection processes for the construction quality management program
  • Handle submittals
  • Develop and distribute RFIs and Change Orders
  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum three years of related experience
  • Current driver’s license
  • Detail orientation sufficient to organize and effectively run multiple project tasks
  • Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
  • Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
  • Microsoft Office, project and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level
  • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
  • Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural, Mechanical, and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent field experience

The base pay range for this role is $91,100 - $123,000. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). 

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
