Northrop Grumman is looking for an Electrical Manager in Hardware Engineering within the Mission Systems Sector that will play a key role in the mission to protect our military personnel. The Hardware Engineering organization is dedicated to consistently providing high quality product designs. We are looking for an Electronics Engineering Manager to support our Targeting Systems Operating Unit.
The Electronics Engineering team provides concept-to-production development, test, and integration for all types of digital, analog, RF, and power hardware that support architectures for Targeting, Surveillance, and Navigation systems.
The Electronics Engineering manager will oversee a group of engineers performing electronic hardware design at the circuit, subsystem, and/or system level for advanced product development, involving translation of customer requirements into hardware requirements and implementation, as well as test and integration of hardware subsystems and components.
Responsibilities include the ability to oversee project execution, maintain staffing across multiple programs, monitor and improve design processes, provide collaboration internal and external to the Hardware Engineering (HWE) organization, as well as training and development of the engineering staff. The Electronics Electrical manager will have previous, relevant experience in Analog, Digital, Power, and/or RF engineering including test and integration in a production environment. The candidate should also be familiar with one or more of the other related disciplines, such as systems, software, mechanical, and the above listed disciplines. The Electronics manager will have developed strong communication and leadership skills in order to lead teams and represent the organization as a prime point of contact for the operating unit-specific programs.
This position will be full time on-site at our Rolling Meadows, IL. location
Basic Qualifications:
- BS degree in Engineering / Physics and minimum 8 years relevant experience; or MS degree in Engineering / Physics with minimum 6 years relevant experience; or BS degree in other technical disciplines with related industry experience of 10 years or more
- Demonstrated success in leading, collaborating, and developing cross functional teams on complex technical projects
- Must have experience in one or more of the following areas: Digital Design, RF or Power Electronics.
- Must possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of management and individual contributors
- US Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- An advanced degree in Engineering / Physics / Engineering Management
- Working knowledge of EO/IR systems/hardware
- Prior success in leading and developing a strong technical staff
- Demonstrated interest in process improvement initiatives, including Agile process metrics tracking and execution of process improvement/development projects
- Current Security Clearance - Secret or Top Secret
Salary Range: $149,400.00 - $224,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
