Inventory Specialist

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and account for all inventory (Company Owned and Customer Owned) across multiple warehouses and field service locations.
  • Ability to generate inbound documentation for equipment returning to facility from various locations.
  • Transact/Review all sales orders for customer for goods and services sold as they pertain to cable.
  • Identify inventory to be utilized to meet customer expectations.
  • Provide alternative solutions to the Account Managers to meet customer demands.
  • Enter all cable paperwork and transact inventory usage for cable.
  • Regularly verify & count inventory as inaccuracies are reported or requested.
  • Perform investigative duties to discover route cause for inventory errors and develop corrective action plans.
  • Manage inventory transfer process between facilities.
  • Manage inventory movement and supporting documentation.
  • Audit locations and perform cycle counting in Warehouse and Yard Locations as well as Customer Owned Cable.
  • Generate work orders for material release and updating of part numbers.
  • Ability to build relationships with multiple departments and meet the demands of each as they pertain to inventory.
  • Coordinate with Regional Inventory Manager to improve inventory reporting methodology.
  • Incorporate inventory controls to enhance inventory accuracy.
  • Institute best practices as they relate to inventory management.
  • Recognize and suggest improvements to eliminate inventory errors.
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
  • Utilize safe work habits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen & background check.
  • 1+ years of related experience preferred.
  • Ability to work extended hours as business needs dictate, on call as required, occasional travel to branch locations.
  • Ability to adjust work schedule and/or work overtime to accommodate both shifts & overtime.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Adobe .
  • Proficient in materials management business systems enterprise resource planning (ERP).
  • Ability to understand and analyze Engineering BOM (EBOM) & Manufacturing BOM (MBOM) structure and changes.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Strong aptitude to learn new systems and system functions.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
  • Ability to multitask in fast paced environment.
