Over the course of fiscal 2022-23, OLG delivered a record $2.5 billion in net profit to the Province of Ontario. We are ready to take this game to the next level and need a passionate Product Optimization Manager to contribute to the product vision by supporting the evolution and development of Digital Gaming product informed by customer behaviour.  The role acts as a bridge between Digital Product stakeholders and the agile team, accountable to identify and articulate business needs, utilizing customer and market research and analyzing product, customer and market data, identifying behaviors and trends. The role contributes to business requirements, develops change tactics and business / marketing plans to support product changes implemented by the product team (lab). The role plays an active role during product design, development, roll-out and post-implementation, with an eye to measuring the success of the product (i.e., OKRs) to inform future product changes.

YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME

Reporting to the Sr Manager, Marketing, you will be empowered to:

  • Collaborate in the development of product and marketing strategies and tactics, acting as the key product resource during the design and development phases to implement tactics related to product design, placement and pricing.

  • Support the marketing labs to enable promotion of consumer-facing online gaming services across all available digital distribution channels.

  • Contribute to product development and campaigns through planning, concept development, execution, optimization and post analysis to ensure alignment with defined product / lab strategies and priorities.

  • Maintain ongoing measurement of OKRs, make recommendations and implement enhancements within the lab to increase customer adoption of new features, including changes in merchandising / placement, experience, and product offering / mix.

  • Identify risks, constraints, dependencies and assist in the development of feature roll-out plans and risk mitigation strategies to ensure a successful roll-out, escalating to Product Owner as required. 

  • In collaboration with the lab PO and BA(s), create, leverage and/or update business deliverables including but not limited to gap analysis report(s), business process models/activity diagrams (i.e., workflows and related illustrations), flow charts and storyboards.

  • Support the Product Owners in gathering and analyzing acceptance criteria, defining metrics to track success of the team (OKRs); Monitor OKRs, verify against market trends, and suggest pivots to marketing tactics.

  • Help Product Owners manage and understand business costs and track against budget; develop and build forecasts and budgets.

  • Develop a deep understanding of current business processes and collaborate with partners within the division on continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Support activities such as user acceptance testing and other related activities, as required.

WHAT YOU NEED TO PLAY

Work Experience: • Three (3) years of related experience in a similar role • One (1) year of requirements gathering (or similar) experience • Experience in Agile Development, with marketing or business analyst experience an asset 

Knowledge and Education: • University degree in Business, Marketing or a related field • Knowledge of marketing principles including product design, promotion, pricing, merchandising, advertising, market research, and sales/retail channels • Competent in conducting various types of independent analysis including skills in data collection, cleaning, and analysis and the ability to extract/ present insights and findings • Knowledge of consumer and technology trends • Knowledge of lottery or casino products and services an asset  • Knowledge and experience in Agile methodology and tools an asset

Critical Skills: Ability to communicate complex messages and trade-offs clearly to senior stakeholders  •  Ability to make real-time decisions and produce high quality output under strict and accelerated timelines, with demonstrated 80/20 approach to structure and solution •     Effectively works in a team setting with a diverse set of SMEs and stakeholders • Ability to proactively identify business needs within the team and represent the voice of the Product Owner to SMEs without significant supervision

Licenses, Registrations, Certificates: This role may require a Category 1 or Category 2 Gaming Assistant Registration (License) from our regulator, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO). If required, employment is conditional upon obtaining and maintaining this registration (license), which will be initiated at the offer stage.
