Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dependable 2nd Class Licensed Engineer to join our hotel’s engineering team. This role involves maintaining, repairing, and overseeing the operation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to ensure the property remains in excellent condition. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing a safe and comfortable environment for our guests and staff.

Responsibilities

    • Operations and Maintenance:

      • Monitor, maintain, and repair hotel systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
      • Perform routine inspections to ensure equipment operates efficiently and complies with safety standards.
      • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, minimizing downtime and disruptions.
    • System Monitoring:

      • Oversee the operation of boilers, chillers, generators, and other critical systems.
      • Maintain accurate logs and records of system operations, repairs, and inspections.
    • Preventive Maintenance:

      • Implement and adhere to a comprehensive preventive maintenance schedule.
      • Diagnose potential issues and perform repairs before they escalate into larger problems.
    • Safety and Compliance:

      • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including safety codes and licensing requirements.
      • Conduct safety checks and training to maintain a safe work environment.
    • Team Collaboration:

      • Work closely with other engineers, maintenance staff, and department heads to address facility needs.
      • Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members when needed.
    • Guest Service:

      • Respond courteously and professionally to guest concerns related to engineering or maintenance.

Qualifications

    • Valid 2nd Class Engineering License (as required by local or state regulations).
    • 3–5 years of experience in engineering or maintenance, preferably in a hotel or similar environment.
    • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
    • Familiarity with building management systems (BMS) and energy management systems (EMS).
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
    • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
