Job Description

Your Career

The Senior Director, Global Compensation is responsible for setting and driving the compensation strategy and execution across the entire organization.  You will partner with our senior business and People team leaders to drive the long-term compensation vision and roadmap for Palo Alto Networks built upon a solid understanding of our business priorities.  You will work across all aspects of compensation to develop and execute strategies that strengthen our ability to attract, grow and retain top talent and honor our commitment to global fair pay practices.

Your Impact

  • Bring expertise across compensation focus areas, including broad based compensation, annual incentive design, equity compensation and executive compensation
  • Innovate and respond quickly to changing business and market realities and demonstrate openness and flexibility to business needs and client requests
  • Lead with internal and market insights to drive compensation solutions with business. This involves providing strong project leadership and a laser sharp focus on driving key outcomes
  • Build, mentor and lead  a world class team of compensation professionals
  • Design and lead all of our cyclical compensation programs ensuring that outcomes reinforce our pay for performance philosophy and are delivered in an objectively fair and consistent manner
  • Be a trusted advisor to business leaders and People Business Partners, on all aspects of compensation decision making
  • Manage all communications with the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors, preparing materials and analysis, partnering with external independent consultants to deliver on Compensation Committee meetings, programs, and projects
  • Design Palo Alto Networks’ annual equity program including budget, guidelines and grant process

Qualifications

Your Experience 

  • BS degree or equivalent practical experience, MS degree or MBA preferred or equivalent military experience required
  • 15+ years of progressive compensation experience in a technology organization
  • Intellectual horsepower combined with the ability to listen, understand, analyze, synthesize and propose solutions
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with a strong executive presence
  • Superior influencing, organizational and analytical capability to create and drive data-driven solutions
  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous, hyper-growth environment as well as strong attention to detail and exceptional problem-solving skills
  • A highly collaborative and team-oriented approach to leading and driving results
  • Effective listener and persuasive communicator able to influence actions and outcome

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $243,000/YR - $334,000/YR. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
