About the Role
We are seeking a results-driven Senior Automation Engineer to play a key role in shaping our automation and testing strategy, ensuring high-quality products through close collaboration with our engineering and product teams.
You will be responsible for building and maintaining robust automation frameworks, enhancing our CI/CD pipelines, and utilizing tools like Playwright and Postman to drive test coverage and reliability. You’ll help define and champion QA best practices while contributing to a product that improves access to healthcare for all Americans.
In this role, you’ll work closely with cross-functional partners to understand requirements, create effective test plans, and proactively identify areas for quality improvement throughout the development lifecycle.
This position is based in our San Francisco headquarters.
Requirements
7+ years of hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining robust test automation frameworks.
Proven track record of leading the transition from manual to automated testing by implementing scalable frameworks for UI, API, and service-level testing using tools like Selenium, Cypress, and WebdriverIO.
Strong experience with API testing and validation using tools such as Postman, Swagger, and Charles Proxy.
Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), with active involvement from requirements gathering through to deployment and release.
Comfortable working in microservices and API-driven environments, with hands-on exposure to technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, JavaScript, Node.js, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
Proficient in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and CircleCI; experienced in using observability tools like Sentry, Datadog, and New Relic to monitor and improve test coverage and reliability.
Strong analytical and QA process skills, including writing and managing test cases using tools such as TestRail or Xray across web, mobile, and backend systems.
Collaborative and cross-functional mindset with the ability to work closely with Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders to establish quality gates, define clear requirements, and ensure timely, high-quality releases.
