Job Description

Purpose of Job: Maintains and repairs fleet vehicles, light/heavy trucks, vans, and forklifts to ensure safe and reliable operations.

Job Duties:

  • Performs most major repairs on fleet vehicles, light/heavy trucks, vans, and forklifts.
  • Performs advanced diagnostic troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and inspections.
  • Performs driver-reported VCR repairs.
  • Trains and assists other fleet technicians.
  • Responsible for parts, test driving & forklift operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate’s Degree preferred.
  • Five (5) ASE certifications or ten (10) years of vehicle maintenance experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical prior to their first day of employment.
  • Must be able to obtain a CDL permit by the 15th business day and 45 business days from date of hire in which to obtain the license, if CDL is not currently held.
  • Must possess proficient experience and knowledge with tools and equipment.
  • Gasoline, diesel and propane fuel systems experience.
  • Onboard diagnostics and repair experience.
  • Must have experience with air and hydraulic brake systems, air conditioning, general vehicle repair, electrical systems, battery-powered industrial equipment, and hydraulic systems.
  • Basic welding skills.
  • Required to have his/her own set of mechanic’s tools sufficient for his/her level of experience.
  • A good work ethic for daily physically and mentally challenging work.
  • Must enjoy working outside year-round when necessary.
  • Must have strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to meet PBV driving qualifications.
  • Must be able to work hours necessary to complete assigned tasks.

Physical Requirements:

  • Constantly (67%-100%) required to walk and stand.
  • Frequently (34%-66%) required to climb and lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Occasionally (0%-33%) required to sit.
