Job Description: Electrical Engineer – Defence Sector (Electronic IVL Services)

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-focused Electrical Engineer to join our Defence sector team, specializing in Electronic IVL (Integration, Verification, and Validation) Services. In this role, you will coordinate verification and certification activities to ensure the compliance and reliability of designs while working collaboratively with proving teams. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects within a fast-paced and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Verification and Certification Coordination:
    • Oversee and coordinate the proving process and associated methodologies, including Environmental, EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility), and Electronic Functionality requirements.
    • Act as a liaison with proving teams while ensuring the process meets project specifications and standards. (Note: Direct conduct of proving activities is not required.)
  2. Generating Verification Evidence:
    • Collate and record verification evidence from proving activities and other sources to support design evaluations and certification requirements.
  3. Work Package Reporting:
    • Prepare and deliver detailed reports summarizing the progress and outcomes of assigned work packages.
  4. Project Deliverables Preparation:
    • Develop and maintain critical project documentation, including:
      • Design Verification Plans: Ensure all aspects of the design meet verification criteria.
      • Design Assurance Plan: Demonstrate compliance with assurance requirements.
      • Compliance Evidence/Matrix: Record and track evidence supporting design compliance.
      • Support Certification of Design: Assist in ensuring designs are certified in accordance with industry and regulatory standards.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Strong understanding of verification and certification processes, methodologies, and standards.
  • Proficiency in collating and recording technical evidence and reporting on design compliance.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across teams.
  • Experience in Environmental, EMC, and Electronic Functionality proving processes is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a methodical manner.
  • Ability to commute to Bristol or Stevenage as required.
  • Security Clearance (SC) is mandatory.
  • Must be a British National.
