Responsibilities

Department: Vasucal Lab

Shift: Per Diem (PRN), Day

Hospital: Resurrection Medical Center

Location: Chicago, IL 60631

 

Assess patients, place and assist in maintenance of the appropriate vascular access device (VAD) at the bedside, using ultrasound and modified Seldinger Technique (MST) for placement. Utilize high degree of computer skills with data input and reporting mechanisms.  Documentation, including data for quality measures of routine audits, and CORE Measures; may include clinical trials and studies.  Check and reorder supplies and medications, and stock as needed daily.  Schedule procedures for out-patients and prioritize all requests.  Patient and family/significant other education; staff education and in services. Follow up patient VAD status, dressing changes and troubleshooting problems.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

 

1. Current and valid State RN License.

2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.

3. Infusion Nurse Certification preferred.

4. Completion of Ultrasound guided PICC placement using Modified Seldinger Technique program.

5. Minimum of three years’ nursing experience, with high level of competency in peripheral catheter placement.

6. PICC and other Vascular Access Device care required.

 

 

Resurrection Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $43.00. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
