Overview

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Emergency Department director, manager and charge nurses, this position encompasses the provision and management of emergency patient care through implementation of the nursing process, delegation to and supervision of licensed and unlicensed personnel, and coordination of interdisciplinary care.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education:  See Licenses and Certifications.

 

Experience:  None Required.  Preferred one year recent Emergency Department experience.

 

Knowledge and Skills:  Able to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing. Able to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment, effectively managing, prioritizing, delegating patient care, and completing work assignments as well as other duties as assigned. Demonstrate knowledge of common disease processes, treatment modalities and interventions.  Above average computer skills.

  

License and Certifications:  Current active California Registered Nurse license.  Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS card, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS or ENPC certification.  NIH Stroke Scale Certification prior to completing department orientation and Non-Violent Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) with 4-months of hire / transfer into the emgergency Department (Once CPI certified, the employee must re-certify the following year, and then bi-annually).

 

Equipment:  Computer, Monitoring Equipment, Smart IV Pump, Rapid Infuser, Blood Warmer.

 

Physical Requirements:  Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.

 

PAY RANGE

$46.50 - $70.09

 

The posted pay range reflects the lowest to highest pay that was available for this position at the time of posting and may be subject to change.  Salary offers are determined by candidate’s relevant experience and skills.  For per diem positions, a standard rate is used based on market data and not the candidate’s individual experience.
