Position Description

Serco supports the Ninth Air Force/United States Air Forces Central Command (9 AF AFCENT) as a prime for their Advisory and Assistance Support (A&AS) contract supporting staff directorates and special staffs.  9 AF AFCENT is the Air Force Service Component of United States Central Command (USCENTCOM), a joint Department of Defense combatant command responsible for U.S. security interests in 27 nations that stretch from the Horn of Africa through the Persian Gulf region, into Central Asia. Our Integrated Air and Missile Defense military analyst supports of 9 AF AFCENT Theater Security Cooperation Directorate (A5).

Our IAMD Military Analyst provides expertise in all aspects of 9 AF AFCENT operational requirements associated with integrated air and missile defense operations.  They develop and maintain joint surface-to-air and fixed-wing weapons integration and employment within a theater-wide system with potential to expand to coalition forces. Key aspects range from initiation, through mission analysis, course of action development, course of action analysis, course of action comparison, course of action approval and plan development. Expertise will be leveraged to develop and generate standard joint operational planning products to include: Operational Guides, CONPLANS and Appendices, and Campaign Plans

In this role, you will:

  • Assist in the development of overall concept-of-operations and rules-of engagement for effective joint/combined air-and-missile defense operations.
  • As directed, coordinate with Service components, higher headquarters (HHQ), and coalition partners to successfully implement an integrated defense plan. This includes active participation in all phases of regional IAMD exercises (primarily as planners, control group members or role players).
  • Develop Fiscal Year operational engagement proposals to support USAFCENT and USCENTCOM.
  • Develop assessment plans for evaluating IAMD Program and exercises.
  • Organize and conduct meetings, conferences, briefings, site surveys in support of operational planning and IAMD operations.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to gain and maintain Top Secret
  • A Bachelor’s degree
  • US Citizenship
  • A minimum of one (1) year AOC (or equivalent) officer experience in IAMD related role
  • Ability to complete the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) Staff Officer Course within 1 year of employment if not already completed in military or contractor status. (Cost will be covered by USAFCENT)
  • Ability to obtain an US Passport and meet visa requirements for Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time as needed
