Summer Intern/Propulsion Mechanical Engineering

Overview

Sierra Lobo, offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies. We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems. Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

This position will be located at NASA’s White Sands Test Facility.

Responsibilities

• Mentor with senior level engineers to gain exposure to test engineering in all areas.• Formulate conceptual design of aerospace products and systems to meet customer requirements.• Generate mathematical models or perform other methods of computer analysis to develop, evaluate, or modify designs.• Direct and coordinate activities of engineering and technical personnel designing, fabricating, modifying, or testing products.• Plan and conduct experimental and operational tests.• Write technical reports and other documentation for use by engineering staff, management, and customers.• Present designs and test results at reviews and other technical meetings.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an ABET-accredited university and pursuing a BS or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.• Must have completed a minimum of four semesters of course work prior to the start of work.• Must be U.S. citizen
