Learning Experience Designer

The Learning Experience Designer works closely with the Learning Team and Company Leaders to assesses Company-wide developmental needs and create engaging learning experiences that support the development and growth of Skechers employees. This position actively searches, creatively designs and implements effective methods to educate, enhance performance and recognize performance. In addition, this position evaluates effectiveness through performance metrics and ensures alignment with strategic business objectives and maintains high quality standards in instructional design and development for all methods of program delivery. This individual will contribute to building a strong learning culture through the development of strategic programs, tools and trainings targeted at supporting the growth of both individuals and the business. The Learning experience designer demonstrates a passion for learning and developing others, curiosity, valuing feedback and self-reflection, and actively enjoys building learning materials.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS-

  • Support the efforts regarding development and continuous improvement of a comprehensive training strategy ensuring partners alignment of training and development with business goals. 
  • Collaborate with HR team members and business leaders to understand their needs related to training and development by proactively interfacing with key stakeholders in order to understand, recommend and deploy effective solutions.
  • Conduct assessments and analyses to define performance, skill and knowledge gaps and recommend training and development to drive individual and company-wide capability and performance improvement.
  • Design and develop programs and curriculum, partner with internal subject matter experts and/or external vendors to achieve defined training, learning and development objectives.
  • Manage development programs that will assist in the growth of teams with initiatives like internship and mentorship, new hire buddy and work study.  This role would be key in assisting with talent planning within the Company.
  • Establish and maintain individual and organizational performance evaluation methods for training content, delivery, activities, engagement and outcomes. Utilize metrics to validate knowledge transfer and return on investment. This would include use of our new performance management and learning tools implemented by our HRIS partners.
  • Facilitate trainings on occasion
  • Utilize strong social skills to instill trust and build broad networks with cross-functional partners across the organization
  • Additional projects as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS-

  • Strong consultative approach
  • Clear, concise and confident communication
  • Adaptability and flexibility when leading classes and strategies
  • Must be able to influence all levels to gain support for all training programs and processes.
  • Use development tools including Articulate Rise and Canva.
  • Ability to effectively manage time, meet deadlines, and allocate and identify resources as needed.
  • Is resourceful and able to work independently as well as collaborate with others.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE-

  • Minimum 3 years of learning and development experience including developing, implementing, and delivering training
  • E-Learning design experience and demonstrated expertise in the technical development, implementation and troubleshooting of web-based training modules.
  • Experience writing in a brand voice or strong writing skills.
  • Experience in retail, the service industry, or hospitality industry.
  • Significant first-hand design and development experience for the retail environment including product, client experience, leadership and operations preferred.
  • Certifications in Instructional Design, Design Thinking, Kirkpatrick Measurement or other assessment certifications are a plus.
  • Not required, but a plus are: LMS experience and basic HTML/CSS scripting.
