The Opportunity: We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Experience and Events Intern to assist the Experience & Events Manager in planning, organizing, and executing a variety of events and activities for the club’s members. This internship provides a unique, hands-on opportunity to gain valuable experience in event management, with a special focus on youth programming, member experiences, private events, and golf outings. Interns will gain exposure to high-level hospitality operations, refine leadership skills, and contribute to delivering exceptional experiences to club members.

Duties and Functions

  • Youth Activities: Assist in planning and facilitating youth programs, camps, and special activities to create engaging experiences for younger members.
  • Member Events: Support the execution of seasonal and signature club events, including social gatherings, themed dinners, golf tournaments, and holiday celebrations.
  • Private Events: Help coordinate private events, including corporate gatherings and milestone celebrations, by assisting with logistics, vendor coordination, and on-site event support.
  • Golf Outings: Assist in planning and executing member and corporate golf outings, including managing player registration, preparing event materials, overseeing on-course contests, and ensuring smooth event flow.
  • Event Logistics: Help with event setup and breakdown, registration, décor, and maintaining event flow to ensure successful execution.
  • Communication & Promotion: Contribute to event marketing efforts, including preparing email communications, updating social media platforms, and engaging with members through outreach.
  • Administrative Support: Maintain event planning documents, manage RSVPs, track event budgets, and assist with post-event evaluations.
  • Guest & Member Interaction: Deliver exceptional hospitality to members and guests, ensuring their needs are met throughout each event.

Internship Learning Plan & Development Goals

  • Week 1-2: Orientation & Onboarding
    • Introduction to Creighton Farms and its member experience philosophy.
    • Shadow the Experience & Events Manager to understand club event operations.
    • Review upcoming events and assist with pre-event planning.
  • Week 3-5: Hands-On Event Execution
    • Take an active role in setting up and managing youth activities.
    • Assist in event preparation, from logistics to vendor coordination.
    • Participate in golf outings by assisting with event coordination.
    • Engage with members to gather event feedback and enhance their experience.
  • Week 6-8: Independent Project & Leadership Development
    • Plan and execute a small-scale member or youth event with guidance.
    • Assist in coordinating a golf outing, learning the operations of tournament management.
    • Work with cross-departmental teams to enhance the overall club experience.
    • Develop problem-solving and event management skills in real-time situations.
  • Week 9-10: Final Project & Wrap-Up
    • Present a recap of internship experiences, key takeaways, and an event evolution project.
    • Execute an intern-led Staff Appreciation Event.
    • Provide recommendations for future event improvements.
    • Conduct an exit interview to discuss growth and career insights.
