The Live Data Services team is the heart of our live data ecosystem, gathering all the events for more than 30 sports and providing them to our clients.  

 

THE ROLE 

As a Senior Software Developer in our Live Data Integrations team we expect that you are passionate about your craft and already have a good understanding of modern development techniques. We expect that you value simplicity, clean code, and clean architecture, you practice TDD (Test Driven Development), pair programming and always welcome feedback. You will be an integrated and important part of the team you are assigned to. We will give you the necessary introduction to get you familiar with our systems and processes, but also expect you to have the necessary experience to be familiar with the way we work. We would like that you take a strong position within the team and be an advocate for good development practices.

THE CHALLENGE:

  • Design, develop, test, build and deploy new applications or enhancements to existing applications
  • Work with other technical staff to understand problems, develop specifications and resolve them
  • Take part in the constant challenge to create a maintainable, well-designed architecture that stands up to the future

YOUR PROFILE:

Required:  

  • Extensive experience developing backend solutions in Java
  • Ability to write a clean, well-crafted, and tested code (XP, TDD) 
  • Agile mindset (focus on delivering working software, collaboration, and improvement) 
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly self-motivated and self-driven
  • Team player, able to work with new teams
  • Flexible to adapt to changing priorities and able to work with tight deadlines
  • Committed to upholding the highest professional work standards and ethics

Preferred skills:

  • Excellent experience with event streaming (Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ)
  • Experience with Spring Framework
  • Strong experience in SQL, especially MySQL, but also NoSQL
  • Strong experience with cloud-based applications and microservices (AWS, Gitlab CI) 
  • Ability to automate repetitive tasks
  • Be an ambassador and influencer of good technology practices
