Senior Cloud Security

The Senior Cloud Security specialist is responsible for overseeing security strategies for digital initiatives, designing security controls in cloud environments, and collaborating with developers during deployments to ensure compliance with security standards. Additional responsibilities include conducting incident response analyses, preparing security reports, and coordinating with internal teams to address security gaps.

Candidates for the Senior Cloud Security position should hold a Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field and have over 5 years of experience in the security domain. A minimum of 2 years experience in securing applications in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google is vital, along with certifications like CCSP, CSA, or CEH to validate their expertise.

Successful candidates should possess a strong understanding of cloud security solutions, security architecture design on various platforms, and the ability to conduct risk assessments. Additionally, analytical, writing, and presentation skills are crucial for communicating effectively with different organizational levels.

In this role, you will engage with various cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google. Knowledge of container systems like Docker, cloud security standards such as ISO/IEC 27018, and cryptography practices will be beneficial for addressing security needs in cloud environments.

The Senior Cloud Security specialist coordinates with diverse internal and external teams for security assessments and reporting, participates in Agile project meetings to provide critical security feedback, and works closely with the Group Digital Security team to align with group security standards.

To design effective security controls for cloud-based solutions, I start with a thorough assessment of the business requirements and existing security policies. I evaluate compliance standards and apply a risk management framework, incorporating best practices for the specific cloud service model being utilized, whether it is IaaS, PaaS, or SaaS.

In my previous roles, I have extensively worked with AWS and Azure, focusing on security configurations and compliance monitoring. My experience includes setting up identity and access management, implementing network security measures, and conducting security audits to ensure adherence to best practices.

I approach compliance reviews by first identifying the relevant regulations and standards applicable to the organization. Then I systematically analyze existing security measures, document findings, and collaborate with teams to develop comprehensive remediation plans that address identified gaps efficiently.
