KIP Summer 2025 - Membership Intern - Marijuana Policy Project Foundation

The Koch Internship Program (KIP) is a paid, 10-week experiential learning program run by Stand Together Fellowships that offers meaningful work experience at non-profits all over the country tackling some of our nation’s most pressing challenges. Throughout your internship with a partner organization, Stand Together Fellowships hosts virtual professional development sessions every Thursday from 1-5 pm ET, wherein you will be mentored by seasoned professionals as you craft a capstone project on the topic that matters most to you.  Interns will receive either a $5,500 or $3,300 stipend from Stand Together Fellowships depending on whether they are participating full-time (40 hours/week) or part-time (28 hours/week).

MPPF (Marijuana Policy Project Foundation), the foremost cannabis policy reform organization  in the United States, is accepting applications for the position of Membership Intern. Based out of our D.C. office, this high-impact position is ideal for a driven and skillful team player who is motivated by the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the development of one of today’s most exciting and evolving policy areas.

This role in onsite in Washington, D.C.


Qualifications
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with CRM/databases & data entry
  • Online research experience
  • Nonprofit and policy work experience a plus


Responsibilities
  • Assist with member/donor communications, outreach, engagement, and renewals
  • Monitor info@mpp.org email account daily and respond to inquiries
  • Monitor MPPF D.C. office mailbox and P.O. Box weekly
  • Sort mail and send relevant items to Operations Manager
  • Data entry and maintenance (Record donations from checks, Enter new supporter contact information, Edit/Remove data, Sync ActBlue donations)
  • Co-manage Shopify account; Order fulfillment, inventory, customer support, etc.
  • Conduct research on relevant policy issues
  • Assist with grants research and grant writing
  • Assist with event planning and execution
  • Assist with D.C. office supply inventory, clean-up, and disposal
  • Other duties as assigned by Director of Development and Operations Manager


$5,500 - $5,500 a year
