SLC Management offers a mix of in-office and virtual work where our employees are empowered to do their best. Generally, employees are expected to work three or more days in-office each week with flexibility depending on their business, client and team needs.

SLC Management is seeking a summer intern to work within our International Investments Centre (IIC). 

The IIC team provides independent research and consulting services to Sun Life Financial wealth, pension and insurance businesses around the world. We provide our business partners with guidance on the selection, development and oversight of innovative fund, asset allocation and product solutions.

Responsibilities

  • The primary role will be to support the IIC in maintaining its monitoring, performance reporting and research of investment managers used by the various SLF businesses.
  • Research products and industry trends. 
  • Analyze due diligence questionnaire responses and follow-up as necessary.
  • Attend meetings with external managers and write notes.
  • Analyze asset class and investment performance results utilizing attribution and risk measurement techniques to explain portfolio performance variations from benchmark performance and/or peer universe performance.
  • Support IIC staff in investment manager searches.
  • Create content for various investment reports.
  • Help maintain various databases/software that the IIC uses.
  • Support other ad-hoc initiatives across the SLC fixed income or multi-asset portfolio management teams.

Your actual base salary will be determined by your unique skills, qualifications, experience, education, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive award based on individual and overall business performance along with a broad range of competitive benefits.
