AllSci is an innovative startup revolutionizing the creation, publication, and consumption of scientific knowledge. AllSci’s platform allows researchers to publish all their ideas and experiments, explore the existing literature through novel and intuitive means, and get credit for their contributions to the scientific dialogue. AllSci’s platform will lead to significantly increased volume, value, and machine readability of scientific information and will address the issues of incentives, trust, and reproducibility that plague science today. AllSci has made significant technological progress and assembled a team of AI technologists and industry veterans.  We are currently beta testing our product.


POSITION 

We are looking for a talented Data Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in data management, modeling, and database design. In this role, you will design and maintain our data architecture, ensure data integrity, and facilitate data flow across various systems to support our business objectives.

As a Data Architect, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and enhancing the data architecture for AllSci and its sister companies, Irving Levin and Associates and Legis1. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand their business requirements and the data needs for each product. Your expertise will be essential in guiding the development of data models and integrating data across different platforms.

The successful candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of modern database technologies and data management principles. They must be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. We are looking for someone creative, who is comfortable working in small teams and can coordinate effectively with developers in the US and internationally. Additionally, you will work alongside the product team, designers, research scientists, and engineers.


RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop data models that align with business requirements and data strategies. 
  • Design databases, data warehouses, and data streams to store and manage data effectively. 
  • Create and enforce database development standards. 
  • integrate various data sources, both internal (generated by the development team) and external (identified by the business team). 
  • Develop data management processes and procedures. 
  • Research and evaluate new data acquisition methods. 
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and developers
  • Establish data governance frameworks and policies
  • Define data quality standards and ensure data accuracy
  • Delegate execution of data engineering tasks
  • Document data architecture and design decisions, ensuring clear communication across teams.


REQUIREMENTS
  • Master’s degree in computer science, data engineering, data science, or similar and 6 years of relevant professional experience or bachelor’s degree and 8 years of relevant professional experience
  • Wide knowledge of contemporary database technologies and tools
  • Direct experience working in the AWS ecosystem
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Experience leading a team of engineers.

$115,000 - $185,000 a year
 
Salary Range: $115,000 to $185,000 per year depending on skills and experience.
