Job Description

Purpose:

The Social Media Content Specialist is responsible for overseeing the strategy, creation, and management of social media (paid and organic) for the College of Engineering and Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES). This role ensures a consistent brand tone and voice across platforms, effectively representing Texas A&M Engineering's initiatives and culture. The specialist develops and executes multi-channel campaigns, monitors performance analytics, and fosters a collaborative environment to align social media efforts with the organization’s goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage comprehensive social media strategies for primary and secondary accounts.
  • Create and implement multi-channel campaigns to support strategic goals for the College of Engineering and TEES.
  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of channel and campaign performance data using tools like GA4, Looker Studio, and/or Tableau.
  • Provide guidance on optimizing strategy based on engagement and previous analytics (paid and organic).
  • Monitor and adapt to higher education social media trends.
  • Create content for social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn, adhering to brand standards.
  • Provide a timely response to social media inquiries and provide direct avenues to appropriate resources.
  • Monitor Reddit and other forums to gauge brand sentiment, escalating insights to relevant stakeholders.
  • Attend events, capture photos, and conduct interviews to develop content.
  • Conduct onboarding for new communications specialists and provide semi-regular social media training for stakeholders across Texas A&M Engineering.
  • Foster innovative, data-driven decision-making through collaboration.
  • Assist with basic graphic design and other duties as assigned.
  • Provide managerial support to the social media student assistant team members.

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four years of related experience.

  • In-depth knowledge of tools like GA4, Looker Studio, and Sprout Social.
