Maintenance Associate (Evenings at Aspen)

 

Cook Memorial Public Library District is seeking a responsible, team-minded individual for a part-time Maintenance Associate position at Aspen Drive Library in Vernon Hills.   Our ideal candidate is someone equally adept at providing customer service and being able to work independently.

Hours:

Two evenings per week: 5– 9 pm, alternating weekends. 
This is a permanent year-round position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Maintaining cleanliness of building and grounds

·         Performing light and routine maintenance work

·         Delivering materials between our two locations

·         Daily room set-ups for programs

·         Seasonal duties such as snow removal and plant watering

·         Building security

Requirements:

·         Able to lift 50 pounds, have the agility to use ladders, and get on and off roofs

·         Able to read and understand equipment manuals

·         Familiarity with tools, plumbing, painting and cleaning techniques

·         Able to easily communicate in English

·         Basic computer skills

·         Requires working at Aspen Drive Library and occasionally covering additional shifts at both our Cook Park Library and Aspen Drive Library locations

·         Must have own transportation, valid Driver’s License and good driving record

·         High School Graduate/GED

Salary and Benefits:

·         Starting at $17 depending on qualifications.  Paid leave and scheduled holiday leave. Premium pay on Sudays. Yearly cost of living and merit increases.
