Commissioning Technician

The Tsui Group is seeking a candidate who is qualified and experienced in educational facility construction projects to serve as a Commissioning Technician for a large educational client within Los Angeles County with the below duties:

  • Manage the commissioning process on various in-house small to medium sized projects
  • Perform Commissioning design reviews, submittal reviews and closeout document reviews
  • Create pre-functioning and functional checklists and commissioning plans
  • Conduct Commissioning meetings and managing the commissioning process for assigned projects
  • Perform field observations and functional testing
  • Document and track test results on issue resolution logs
  • Create commissioning deliverables such as final commissioning reports
  • Assist in the review and development of staff training and continuing education opportunities
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Project Manager of Commissioning

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of full time paid professional experience in commissioning
  • Working knowledge of building code, CHPS, and commissioning requirements
  • ANSI commissioning certification (CxA, CxT, BCxP, Certified Commissioning Professional)
  • Extensive knowledge of building, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems

Required Education:

  • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree, preferably in mechanical or electrical engineering, architecture or construction management

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in design or construction management with a focus on mechanical systems
  • Engineer-In-Training Certification or valid CA Professional Engineering License
  • Industry- recognized energy management certification
  • Salary Range: $135,000-$140,000
  • Medical, Vision, & Dental – 100% covered for the employee*

  • 6 days of Sick pay (Available Immediately)
  • 13 days of Holiday pay
