Tomorrow Water is hiring an Engineering Manager to work onsite at its Anaheim, California headquarters. Job Summary:

The Engineering Manager will lead and coordinate the engineering team in the design, development, and implementation of water and wastewater treatment solutions for industrial and municipal projects. This position requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of biological treatment processes, particularly membrane bioreactors (MBR). The Engineering Manager will work closely with the Project Management Office to ensure successful project execution while maintaining the highest standards of quality and innovation.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and mentor a diverse team of engineers including mechanical, electrical, instrumentation & control, and project engineers to drive technical excellence and professional development.
  • Lead engineering activities for water and wastewater treatment projects, from conceptual design through detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, and startup.
  • Collaborate with the Project Management Office to ensure project deliverables meet client specifications, technical standards, and company quality requirements.
  • Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, equipment selections, and technical specifications for completeness and consistency.
  • Support proposal development by providing technical input, innovative solutions, and accurate engineering estimates.
  • Implement value engineering to optimize designs while maintaining functionality, reliability, and compliance with regulations.
  • Establish and maintain engineering standards, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistency across projects.
  • Coordinate cross-functional engineering activities to ensure integrated system designs that meet project objectives.
  • Develop and implement technical solutions for biological treatment processes, particularly membrane bioreactors (MBR) and other innovative water technologies.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes in the water and wastewater sector.
  • Collaborate with R&D teams to integrate new technologies and research findings into project designs.
  • Manage engineering resources effectively to support multiple concurrent projects while maintaining quality and meeting schedules.
  • Provide technical leadership during project commissioning and startup activities, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
  • Support business development activities through technical presentations and client meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience and industry knowledge and understanding of water/wastewater engineering projects.
  • Minimum of at least 3 years in a leadership role, with ability to mentor, motivate, and lead diverse engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated expertise in biological treatment processes, particularly membrane bioreactors (MBR) design and commissioning.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation & control systems for water/wastewater facilities.
  • Experience managing engineering teams and coordinating multi-discipline engineering activities.
  • Proven track record of successful project execution from design through commissioning.
  • Knowledge of industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements for water and wastewater systems.
  • Experience with process flow diagrams, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and engineering calculations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Willingness to travel as required for project site visits, commissioning activities, and client meetings.
  • Must be able to work onsite at the Anaheim, California and hybrid can be discussed.

Work Environment

  • Location: Anaheim, California Headquarters
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 hrs per day
